He was predeceased by: his sons, Frank Montiel (Anna), Nathan Montiel (Cynthia) and Jerry Montiel. He is survived by: his brother Joe Vasquez (Stephanie); his children, Leslie Torres (Max), Ernest Montiel (Norma Gonzales) and Alex Montiel; and also Audrey.
