He was predeceased by: his daughters, San Juana Perez and Claudia Sanchez; and his siblings, Aurelia Cortez and Matias Hernandez. He is survived by: his wife Maria Antonia V. Hernandez; his children, Rosario Martinez (Joe) and Joaquin Hernandez Jr.; and his pet Golondrina. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
