He was predeceased by: his father Jesse R. Elizondo; and his sister Martha Jane Coronado. He is survived by: his mother Elena Sanchez; his father-in-law Juan S. Sanchez; and his siblings, Norma Jean Delgado (Juventino Delgado), Leticia A. Elizondo and Santiago Guillermo Elizondo. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
