He was predeceased by: his sister Julie Acuna; and his parents, Beatrice Gonzales and Hugh Gonzales Sr.. He is survived by: his son Joseph Gonzales (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Demitirio Gonzales, Isabella and Feliciano; and his siblings, Anthony Gonzales (Cindy Gonzales), Lisa De, Juan Santibanez (Susie Santibanez) and Mynra Gonzales (Roberto Valdez). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South (1700 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78214).
