Gloria Margarita (Mendez) Mendez-Murphy Obituary

Gloria Margarita Mendez-Murphy passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 05, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas after a long battle with COPD.
Gloria was born on March 21, 1959, in Alice, Texas, a beloved daughter to the late Guadalupe and Margarita Mendez. .Gloria was talented at every endeavor she tried. She was a cheerleader, twirler, and then a drum major. Gloria was very talented in music and earned all-state clarinet player in high school. She attended college briefly in Corpus Christi. Gloria then moved to Austin Texas and used her great intellect to become a medical transcriptionist where she gained extensive knowledge of medical terms and illnesses. Gloria married and had her only child, because Gloria loved music, she fittingly named her Melody. Gloria is survived by her daughter Melody Murphy of Austin, Texas, Her brothers Luis (Mary Alice) Mendez of Houston, Texas, Guadalupe Mendez Jr. of Kingsville, Texas, her sisters Sylvia Garza of Carrollton, Texas, Elvira Burns of San Antonio, Texas, and Linda (Mark) Johns of San Diego, California. Additionally, she is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces.
Gloria is now reunited in Heaven with her parents, Guadalupe and Margarita Mendez, her nephew Christopher Johns, and her great-nephew Anthony Ramirez. Although Gloria's physical presence is no longer with us, she will forever be cherished and remembered.
