She is survived by: her husband David Albert Wilhelm; her children, Tracy Lee Wilhelm (Judy) and Mary Kay Tyson; her grandchildren, Karl Wilhelm (Christy), Rebecca Wilhelm-Belongia, Heather Canales (Nick) and Austin David Tyson; her great grandchildren, Hailey, Sarah and Andrew; her brother Richard Stapleton (Chiu Mei); her nephews, Daniel Stapleton, Raymond Stapleton (Laura) and Ethan; and her niece Anna.
In lieu of flowers, Gerene asked for donations to The American Cancer Society.
