He was predeceased by: his parents, Graviel Alaniz and Genoveva Solis; his wife Consuelo Alaniz; and his siblings, Graviel Alaniz, Jr., Jesus Alaniz, Sebastian Alaniz, George Alaniz, Hortencia Ortiz and Doris Drury.
He is survived by: his children, Esteban Alaniz, Jr. (Norma), Lydia Samaniego (Leopoldo) and Erlinda Lopez (Eduardo); and his sisters, Paola Bautista, Andrea Compean, Estefana Tejerina and Genoveva Thomas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends.
