He was predeceased by: his parents, Rafael Cavazos and Francisca Cavazos; his wife Lucille Cavazos; his grandson James Ernest; and his brothers, Johnny and Joe Cavazos.
He is survived by: his son James Albert (Ecidra); his grandchildren, Genevieve Nicole and Jonathan Michael (Celeste); his great grandchildren, Alexis Marie, James Ernest Jr., Jyllliana Gomez (Ms) and Connie Soto; and his brothers, Robert (Alicia), Marcial (Anita) and Martin (Wandee).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brookehill Funeral Home (711 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78214). A rosary was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A procession was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Departing the Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Lawrence Catholic Church (236 E Petaluma Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78221-3335). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at the San Jose Burial Park (8235 Mission Rd, San Antonio, TX 78214).
