He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Montalvo and Gregoria Jimenez; and his brother Herman Montalvo. He is survived by: his daughter Graciela "Grace" Gonzalez (Daniel Gonzalez, Jr.); his granddaughter Ellie Grace Gonzalez; his daughter Rebecca "Becky" Montalvo (Gary Abner); and his siblings, Ernesto Montalvo, Erasmo Montalvo, Irma Molinar, Linda Pena and Eraldo Montalvo. He is also survived by his family and friends.
