He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustine and Maria; and his siblings, Reymundo, Dora, Benjamin, Daniel, Santos and Linda.
He is survived by: his brother Hector Menchaca; and his sisters-in-law, Amelia Menchaca and Irene Menchaca. He is also survived by 11 nephews, 12 nieces.
