He was predeceased by: his parents, Efrain Hernandez Almanza and Estella Vasquez Almanza; his mother-in-law Micaela R. Fuentes; and his sisters, Maria Garcia, Belia Almanza, Rosa Espinoza, Irene Ramirez and Lydia Sepulveda.
He is survived by: his wife Maria J. Almanza (Mary Jane); his children, Jessica Almanza (Javier), Efrain Almanza III and Edmund Almanza (Serena); his grandchildren, Jenna Canales-Garcia (Chato), Jacob Almanza, Celestina Almanza and Josephine Almanza; and his siblings, Abel Almanza (Alicia), Olga Zavalza (Temo), Alfredo Almanza (Gloria), Gilbert Almanza (Emma), Sylvia Hernandez, Elena Tijerina, Josefine Trinidad (Robert), Elizabeth Gil, Josefina Saenz (Heriberto), Joe Almanza (Margaret) and Sam Almanza. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South (1700 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78214). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A procession will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church (236 E Petaluma Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78221).
