He was predeceased by: his parents, William Buchfeld and Mary Gaiato Buchfeld; his brothers, Larry Buchfeld and John Buchfeld; and his stepdaughter Deborah Loescher.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Funke Buchfeld; his son Johnny Buchfeld; and his stepchildren, Terry Dawson (Michael), Julie Flores (Carlos) and Kenneth Ewing (Sharon). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fisher House (Fisherhouse.org) to help house wounded warrior's families while they are receiving medical care.
