He is survived by: his parents, Jo Ann Martinez Cortez and Donald John Cortez Sr.; his wife Mary Jane Cortez; his brothers, Steve Cortez and Edward Rodriguez; his stepsiblings, Edward Navarro, Bobby Lee Esquivel and Dawn Nicole Leal; his children, Felicia, Brandon, Afton, Asher Cortez and Nadia Canales; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Regino, Aliyah Simmons and Jameson Cortez.
