He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Koontz and Lila Koontz. He is survived by: his significant other Kristi Koontz; his sons, Corey M. Koontz (Gaby) and Cody D. Koontz of Beeville; his granddaughter Coralynn Koontz of San Antonio; his brothers, Gary E. Koontz, Tracy of Berlin, PA and Roger J. Koontz of Boswell, PA.; and his siblings-in-law, Robin Cypert, Clint of San Antonio, Chad Dorethy, Lourdes of San Antonio, Eddie Easterling, Tiffany of May and Johnny Coffey of Boerne. He is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
