He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian A. Cortez, Sr. and Herminia A. Cortez; his sister Janie Cortez; and his niece Jamie Jean Cortez. He is survived by: his siblings, Helena Montelongo, Margie Gandy (Kevin), Julian Cortez, Jr. (Lulu) and Miguel Cortez (Jean); and also Jeannie Cortez. He is also survived by six children, fifteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
