He was predeceased by: his parents, Hurley Purnell and Nora Mae Williams Purnell. He is survived by: his siblings, Michael Lewis Purnell of San Antonio, TX, Edna Jones (Jimmy) of Indianapolis, IN, Kattie Robinson of Greenwood, SC, Yolanda Martin (Wallace) of Plum Branch, SC and Pamela Robinson of Newberry, SC; his aunts, Katie Wilson (Roosevelt) of Gaston, SC, Mary Frances Robinson of Chappells, SC, Jonell Jones (Elliott) of Baltimore, MD, Doris Jones, Novela, San Antonio and Lessie Blakey of Kinard, SC; and his close friend Linda Murdock of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by son and four grandchildren; first cousins.
