He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Tieken and Lucy Harrell; his wife Helen Tieken; and his stepdaughter Vickie Rice. He is survived by: his children, Saundra Syma and Gary Carter (Tarri Segal); his stepson-in-law Louis "Bud" Rice; his siblings, Dorothy Rechner (Eddie), Rufus Tieken (Arelene) and Rick Tieken (Lisa); and his close friend Frankie Atkins. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
