He was predeceased by: his parents, Leandro Acosta and Felizadad Dingle Acosta; and his brother Bonifacio Acosta. He is survived by: his wife Erma Jean Acosta; his children, Karen Taitano (James), Lisa Acosta, Danny Acosta (Kelley) and Eric Acosta (Diego); his grandchildren, Ryan, Cheyenne, Nataly, Makeda, Olivia and Zoey; and his siblings, Leandro Acosta Jr. (Imelda), Linda Sta Maria (Gabriel), Lilia Champe (Tom), Sammy Acosta (Kristin), Naty Diego (Ruben), Art Acosta (Paz), Rosa Pascual, Narding Acosta and Fred Gonzalez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
