Barbara Bex Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Bex of San Antonio, Texas, born in Houston, Texas, who passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank H. Smith and Willie Mae Johnson Smith; her spouses, Robert Maxwell Hill, U. S. Navy and Kenneth Maxwell Carpenter; her brothers, Charles Smith (Joan), Frank Smith, Jr. and Clifford Smith; her children, Beverly Simpson and Keith Marshall; her granddaughters, Toni Gayle Marshall and Amelia Coffman; her aunts, Lorraine Smith, Opal Joiner and Bernie Lee Williams (Sissy); her uncle Albert Smith; her niece Jill Cox; and her great-nieces, Carlene Kelly and Jeanie Stover.

She is survived by: her husband Jean-Pierre Bex; her children, Vincent Bex (Teresa), Suzanne Coffman (Jimmy), Laura West and Anne-Catherine Bex-Seals (Mickey); her daughter-in-law Sherri Marshall; her grandchildren, Cathy Rouse (Stacy), Rachel Tenenholz (Aaron), Robert Seals (Amy), Matthew Seals (Amy), Michael Seals (Kara), Van Marshall (Cindy), Cole Marshall (Patricia), Harold Sylva (Lisa), Jacob Sylva and James Bruner; her great grandchildren, Aaron Bruner, Marijane Bruner, Isaiah Marshall, Addison Marshall, Paxton Marshall, Caedmon Marshall, Ellington Marshall, Linden Marshall, Hollin Marshall, Christian Rouse, Lyla Seals, Luke Seals, Stella Seals, Cain Seals, Sydney Seals, Saywer Seals and Landon Tenenholz; her great great grandchild Vincent Sylva; her cousin Rev. John Powell Smith; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Smith and Temple Smith.
