He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Manuel Avila, Maria Jesusita of Avila, Minerva Navarro and Pedro Suarez; his aunts, Dora Suarez and Sonia Avila; and his nephew Antonio Palos.
He is survived by: his parents, Agapito Avila and Lidia Alonso; his children, Emily Ann Avila, Christian Adam Avila (Carolina), Anthony Avila, Adam Avila and Amarie Avila; and his siblings, Maria Avila, Perla Hernandez (Oscar), Tomas Avila (Lillie), Claudia Shearer, Agapito "Petey" Shearer, Antonio Avila, Ariana Thompson and James Avila. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
