He was predeceased by: his parents, Otila Cruz (Villarreal) and Juan Esteban Cruz; his wife Luz Herrera; his daughter Otila Padilla; and his son-in-law Raul Padilla.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Alcorta (Ruben) of San Antonio, Mary Elsie Morales (Catarino Morales) of Uvalde and Armando D. Cruz Jr. (Amanda) of San Antonio; and his grandchildren, Phillip Padilla, Amanda Lira, Jacob Alcorta, Daniel Alcorta, Miranda Matta, Catarino Morales III, Jennifer Swierc, Adrianna Cruz, Alejandro Cruz, Alonzo Cruz and Adelina Cruz. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
