He was predeceased by: his parents, Inez Gutierrez and Petra Gutierrez; his daughter RoseMary Gutierrez; and his siblings, Felipa Gutierrez, Eusebia Aguirre, Mary Anderson, Crispin Vejara, Gomesindo Gutierrez and Bonifacio Gutierrez.
He is survived by: his wife Romelia T. Gutierrez; his daughters, Juanita Cantu and Anna Maria Gutierrez; his stepdaughters, Claudia Paredez (Nick) and Nora Galvan (Lorenzo); his sons, Joe Angel Gutierrez, Dionisio "Danny" Gutierrez and Lee Roy Gutierrez; his stepson Benito Acevedo; and his siblings, Viviana Flores, Anita Esparza, Guadalupe Hernandez (Paul), Juan Gutierrez and Paul Gutierrez (Leana). He is also survived by ses 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
