He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Gaston and Nona Hall Gaston; his sister Marilyn; and his mother-in-law Marie Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Robyn Gaston; his children, Doran Gaston, Leslie Ashlock (Ben) and Robert Skelton; his grandchildren, Drew and Kate Ashlock; his brother Skipper Gaston (Susan); his nephews, Todd Burns (Marcela), Chris Hendricks (Laura) and Colin Gaston (Shannon); his niece Jennifer Gaston; his father-in-law Robert Bennett; and his siblings-in-law, Evan Bennett (Angela) and Cindy Larson (Tim). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harper Funeral Home (2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, TX 76904). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Johnson Street Church of Christ (2200 Johnson Ave, San Angelo, TX 76904). A burial was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at the Fairmount Cemetery (1120 W Ave N, San Angelo, TX 76901).
