He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pinckney Barnes III and Louise Cotton Barnes; his siblings, Jet Barnes Tower, Naida Barnes and Bill Barnes; and his grandson Robert Littleton Stell.
He is survived by: his wife Loye; his children, Alice Barnes Viroslav (Sergio), Kathy Barnes Stell (Andrew) and J. Tipton Barnes (Stephanie); and his grandchildren, Hannah Viroslav McFarland (Dan), Anna Stell Foley (Brennan), Andie Viroslav, Sadie Stell, Evan Viroslav, Margaret Stell and Marlowe Barnes.
A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Harper Funeral Home (2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, TX 76904).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in John's memory be made to the Longhorn Foundation, New Beginnings Animal Rescue, or a local charity of your choice.
