He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Collins and Mary Lou Collins; his wife Ronnette Hodges; his sister Elaine Bembry; and the mother of his children Linda Alexander.
He is survived by: his brother Ronnie Collins of Tallahassee, FL; and his children, Jay Collins Jr. of Bartlett, TX, Debbie Roddenberry of Havana, FL, Timothy Collins of Odessa, FL, Alex Collins of Tallahassee, FL and Will Collins of Franklin, TN.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Country Church (9677 Lark Trail, Salado, TX 76571).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cal Farley Boys Ranch, Amarillo, TX, reflecting RJ's lifelong commitment to helping others.
