He was predeceased by: his parents, William Eakin and Winnie Eakin; his daughter Tammie Quarles; and his siblings, C. D. Eakin, Mable Jennings, Evelyn Baysinger, Francis Cureton, Faron Hindman and LaNell Witt.
He is survived by: his spouse Barbara Eakin of Salado; his son Randy Eakin of Waco; and his grandchildren, Mandy Staton (Garrett, Wendy Sedillo), Joseph and Wyite "Bubba" Butler. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
