He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hugo Mergele and Mary Mergele (Foerster); his wife Rosalee Mergele (Strzelczyk); and his children, James Mergele (Patricia) of Adkins, Stephen Mergele (Doris) of Adkins, Jeffrey Mergele (Jennifer) of St. Hedwig and Laurie Susan Lancaster of Colorado. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
