He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Mark Jernigan and Melba Lenora Sanford Jernigan; and his siblings, Joe, O'Neal, Wayne, Tommy Jernigan and Marie Shelton.
He is survived by: his significant other Peggy Brown of Jacksonville; his daughter Jana Marie Jernigan-Gough; his brother Arvie F. Jernigan (Pat) of Troup; and his grandchildren, Billy Gough and Cobe Gough. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
