He is survived by: his parents, Nita Marie Kellner and Jesus Magana; his sister Trella M.; his niece Chloe C.; his grandparents, Timothy K. and Frances K.; his aunt Tana K.; his uncles, Timothy K. and Earl K.; his grandmother Margarita M.; his aunt Mari C.; and his cousins, Vanessa C. and Victor C.. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pre-COVID, JJ participated in several 5K runs and enjoyed collecting the medals, and he always slowed his pace to make sure he crossed the line with his mother.
