He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugenio Orona, Sr. and Margarita Lopez Orona; his former wife Guadalupe Guevara Orona; and his brothers, Samuel Orona, Eugenio Orona, Jr., Encarnacion Orona and Angel Orona.
He is survived by: his wife Oralia Pena Orona; and his children, Silvestre Orona, Jr. (Irma Jo) of Corpus Christi, Oscar Orona (Jessica) of Uvalde, Connie Rubio (Luis) of Uvalde, Yesenia Flores (Leo) of Brackettville, Erica Ayala (Jose) of Batesville and Shavonne Ayala. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
