Modene Davis Horton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Modene Davis Horton of Sabinal, Texas, who passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Davis and Sylvia Davis (Sampson); her husband Eck Horton; her siblings, Juanita Moody (Walter) and Charles Davis (Edna); her son Douglas Horton; and her daughter-in-law Kimberly Horton.
She is survived by: her sons, Stephen Horton (Debby) and Kirk Horton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary - Sabinal (410 Cullins Ave, Sabinal, TX 78881). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (607 N San Antonio St, Sabinal, TX 78881). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sabinal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Sabinal First Baptist church or Sabinal Cemetery Association.
