He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Smith and Dorothy Smith; his daughter Rhonda Machelle Smith; and his granddaughter Amber Vaughn. He is survived by: his wife Zella Smith of Rusk; his children, Larry "Carl" Smith Jr. of Rusk and Katrina (John Burns) of Rusk; his grandchildren, Nikki (Bryan Cook) of Rusk, Keith (Christina Gault) of Rusk and Larry (Ariel Gault) of Tomball; his great grandchildren, JJ Boroughs, Mason Cook, Bryan Christopher Gault, Jaron Cook, Meeka Liles, Sophia Cook, Emily Cook, Amelia Cook, Peyton Gault and Aron Gault; his brother Brent (Bobbie Smith) of Grandbury; and his grandchildren, Casey Kantner, Kyle Burns and Christina Sorrentino.
