He was predeceased by: his daughter Jennifer Townsend; his parents, Vernon Townsend and Anna Townsend; and his brothers, Melvin and Ted Townsend.
He is survived by: his brother Wayne (Betty Townsend) of Rusk; his children, Brian (Misty Townsend) of Alto, Julie Townsend of Rusk and Lisa Townsend Parr (Robert); his grandchildren, Hunter, Todd Hayden Townsend and Katie Farmer (Lee); his great grandchildren, Tyler, Derek Jordan, Kayla Middleton, Shayla Townsend and Emma Duvall; his sister Patricia; and also Russell Duvall.
The family asks that donations be made to ALS or your local youth sports associations.
