He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Goforth and Frances Evans Goforth. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Goforth of Rusk; his sons, Rev. James L. Goforth Jr. (Lisa) and Dr. Thomas Goforth; his grandchildren, Andrew Goforth, Bryan Goforth (Maggie), Jo Goforth and Ashley-Kate Lazarides (Chris); his great grandchildren, Lydia Goforth, Elliot Goforth and Nastassia Lazarides; and his brother Bobby Goforth (Pat).
