He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Helm and Trudy Mae Loden Helm; his sister Evelyn; his brother-in-law Lionel Newman; his brother Daryl Helm; and his niece Becky Bell.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Whitmore Helm of Rusk; his siblings, Ann Carlile of Huntsville, Billy Helm of Atoy and Kenneth (Janis Helm); and his sister-in-law Cynthia Boyce of Rusk. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
