He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix Zapata and Carlota Zapata; his wife Juanita Zapata; and his son Rudy Zapata. He is survived by: his children, Rosalinda Moreno (Juan), Eloy Zapata Jr. (Esperanza), Manuel Arturo Zapata (Isabel), Felicita Reyes, Felix Zapata (Gloria), Carlos Zapata (Maria), Noe Zapata, Francisco Zapata and Martin Zapata (Tracy). He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
