He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Scherer and Alice Scherer (Lorenz); and his sister Carol Schaible. He is survived by: his wife Gabriela Rodulfo of Runaway Bay; his children, David "Buck" Scherer of Port Arthur, Danette Scherer (Mitch) of Little Rock and Gaby Cavins (Alex) of San Diego, California; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Jonathan and Lyanna Cavins; and his brother Danny Scherer. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
