He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy S Horton and Alice Williams Horton; his siblings, T. J., Eugene, Eutaw, Willis Horton and Kathleen Sanders; his brother-in-law Lloyd McEntire; and his grandson Benjamin Passmore.

He is survived by: his brother Willie Horton; his nephews, Terry and Cam Horton; his wife Violet Horton; his children, Rick Horton (Traci) of Nevada, Texas, Valorie Passmore (Wendel) of Marshall, Shawn Carter (Pat) and Cynthia Wilburn (Scott) of Austin, Texas; his sisters-in-law, Wilma Horton of Morrilton, Glenda Horton of Marshall and Maybelle Morris (Kenny); and his grandson Austin Passmore. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
