He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Samples and Ruby Lee Samples; his former wife Dianna Kay McCallum; his children, Virgle Lee and Helena Olivia; and his siblings, Helen Peacock, Joe and Kenneth Samples.
He is survived by: his children, Tina Louise (Bill Van Dyke), Sherri (Craig Hook) and Fred (Traci Tipton); his wife Karoll Tipton Samples; his sister-in-law Drema Samples; and his brother J. A. Samples (Mabel Samples).
