He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Dunken and Fern Thornton (Goode); and his grandson Christian Vara (Meriane B. Thornton). He is survived by: his children, Christopher Thornton (Lucy), Samantha Cyr (Christopher), Heather Davis (Christopher), Robert Staggs (Vicky), Carrie Mei-Ling Farjellah and Julie Lee; his cousin Kay Thornton Potts (David); his grandchildren, Mackenzie Thornton, Kaylie Law, Logan Law, Chloe Law, Bella Cyr, Ava Cyr, River Cyr, Scarlett Cyr, Lauren Vara-Aylor, Holden Davis, Leighton Davis, Jacob Staggs, Nicholas Staggs, Matthew Staggs, Zachary Staggs, Joshua Farjellah, Christopher Farjellah, Maria Grace Farjellah, Ashley Bageant and Christopher Lee; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Schaefer, AnnaLeigh Vara, Rosalyn Aylor, Clayton Coleman and Logan Coleman.
