She was predeceased by: her parents, Fransisco Tamayo and Carmen Olarte; and her siblings, Luz Maria De La and Fransisco Luis Tamayo. She is survived by: her daughter Luz Maria Tamayo-Washington of Garland; her sisters, Irma Tamayo Olarte of Medellin, Colombia, Mariluz Tamayo Olarte of Medellin, Colombia and Nora Elena Tamayo Olarte of Medellin, Colombia; and her grandson Therone Terrell Washington, Jr..
