He was predeceased by: his son Bruce G. Johnson; and his parents, George Johnson and Theresa Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Holmes Johnson; his grandchildren, Christina Youngblood, David Bryce, Carla Holmes, Jordan Holmes, Leann, Ryan Youngblood, Jessica, Drew Dyer, Mitchell and Leigh Jeter; his great grandchildren, Mason, Ian, Nolan Dyer, Foster Jeter and Papa; his son Brent B. Johnson of Rowlett; his siblings, Roy (Edith) and Marjorie Hardcastle (Kenneth) of Bossier City; and also, Kristen, Ashly, Joy and JoAnn.
