He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gillam Goodman II and Hattie Ruth Goodman (Triplett); his son Joseph Gillam Goodman IV; his brother Gary Goodman (Davene); and his nephew Gary Goodman Jr. (Kathy).
He is survived by: his wife Elketha Goodman (Brewer); his children, Gina Barron (Keith), Kendall Goodman (Deanna) and Misti Southers (Warren); his grandchildren, Shelby Panzino (Austin), Kaylie Barron, Rachel Rose (Pierce), Adam Goodman, Sarah Goodman, Hannah Goodman, Weston Southers (Ashley), Addison Hudspeth (Brett) and Jackson Southers; his great grandchildren, Jemma and Jett Panzino; his niece Melanie Farmer; and his great-nephew Gavin Farmer. He is also survived by many nieces and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Rowlett United Methodist Church designated for either the food missions or youth scholarship fund.
