As Helen Jean departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Helen Jean may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Helen Jean leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Henry and Katherine Marshall (Szybiak); and her brother Johnny Marshall. She is survived by: her significant other Leonard R. Schmitt; and her children, Cheryl Savage (John), Peggy Watkins (Donnie), Michael Schmitt (Donna), Patrice Wise (Rick) and Kenneth Schmitt.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rowlett (3701 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX 75088). A rosary was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum Chapel (3900 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX 75088).
