He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Frederick and Carrie Lee Schmidt (Bray); his wife Martha Jo Schmidt; his son Donald Schmidt Jr. (Virginia); his grandchildren, Troy Schmidt (Canée) and Cynthia Carr (Christian); his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Matteus Schmidt, Peyton, Morgan and Adrienne Carr; and his siblings, William Schmidt, Marvin Schmidt and Marlene Goldstein. He was also cherished by 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
