She was predeceased by: her parents, Gus Gully and Bernadine Gully (Halfmann); her husband Ray Gene; her daughter Janel Vaughn; and her sisters, Lillie Ann Biedermann and Mary Fry.

She is survived by: her children, Gary Hoelscher (Lynette) of Miles, Cindy McMillan (Kent) of Garden City, Kay Halfmann (Ronnie) of Austin, John Hoelscher (Karen) of San Angelo, Steve Hoelscher (Mary Lee) of Wall and Chris Hoelscher (Kelliann) of Southlake; and her son-in-law James Vaughn of Bronte. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
