She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Ruether, Jr. and Mary Ruether (Mascheck); her siblings, Jeanette Anderson and Lawrence Ruether (Ozie); and her brothers-in-law, Henry Muras, Lucious Dennis and Daniel Gerik, Sr..
She is survived by: her husband El Gene Sommerfeld; her sons, Marvin Sommerfeld (Gwyn) and Mike Sommerfeld (Julie); her grandchildren, Lauren Preston (Kevin), Kyle Sommerfeld (Yesenia), Carson Sommerfeld, Brandon Sommerfeld, Brooklyn Sommerfeld and Layton Sommerfeld; her great grandchildren, Keeley Preston and Nihan Sommerfeld; her siblings, Ludie Dennis, Joyce Muras and C. J. Ruether (Gloria); her brother-in-law Mike Anderson; and her nephew Danny Gerik (Lisa). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
