He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Hugh McDaniel and Emma Ruth Sears; his wife Gay Lynn; his uncle John McDaniel; and his brothers, Larry McDaniel and Roy McDaniel.
He is survived by: his nephew Kevin McDaniel; his sons, Gary (Michelle McDaniel) and Bryan (Heather McDaniel); his grandchildren, Lauren McDaniel, Jack McDaniel, Chris McDaniel, Sophia McDaniel and Sidney McDaniel; and his sisters, Donna Jean Rutland (Wally Rutland) and Debra Ann Campbell (Glenn Campbell). He is also survived by his family and friends.
