She was predeceased by: her parents, Naomi Buchanan and Roosevelt Williams Sr.; her husband Gilbert M. Smith Jr.; and her siblings, Louise Williams, Roosevelt Williams Jr. (Skip) and Ruth Lee Knox.

She is survived by: her daughter Ericka Denise Hampton; her siblings, Harold Williams (Karen) and Rosemary Rose; her stepchildren, Gilbert M. Smith III, Angele Vonderpool and Dwana Smith; and her friend Tami Andrews. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the American Heritage Funeral Home (10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Purple Heart Foundation and Wounded Warriors.
