He is survived by: his children, James Burton Mitchell (Ericka Marie Leyva) and Suzanne Leigh Mitchell; his grandchildren, Scarlette Olivia Mitchell, Julian Soren Mitchell and Elizabeth Kinsley Mitchell; his stepgranddaughter Kennedy Lexis Robert; and his sisters, Nelora "Lori" Ann Bedford and Jana Lynn Compton. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
